As a graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy and a classically trained musician, Doc Probes earned his way through medical school playing the bassoon in symphony orchestras. His life-long passion for music has taken him down many roads. Along with his powerful vocal strength, he plays guitar, bouzouki, mandolin, concertina, bass and keyboards. He has performed for 20 years from coast to coast.
When not pursuing his love of music,
Dr. Lawrence M. Probes, M.D. has helped thousands of patients during his distinguished career as a Psychiatrist. He received his medical school training at the University of Texas and served in private practice for 25 years. He is now a staff psychiatrist for Pinerest Christian Mental Health Services in Traverse City, Michigan.
Since learning German in high school and college, foreign language study has been a passion of Doc Probes. He speaks fluent Russian and served as a public health officer in the former Soviet Union in the 1990's. He also speaks Spanish and Frisian, plus he has studied Arabic. During the Pandemic, he added Italian study on Duolingo and is close to becoming a fluent speaker.
